TRI Partners with the International Rescue Committee to Give Away 10+ Devices
"Being able to put a device in the hands of someone who needs it... That's one of the best feelings in the world."

Over the course of the last two days, the Technology Relief Initiative Team has partnered up with the International Rescue Committee, one of the largest humanitarian charities in the world, to give away 10+ Laptops and MacBooks to Refugees within the Greater San Diego Area.

TRI received a large number of donations all throughout Winter of 21 and Spring of 22, and with summer arriving TRI looked to give away all the freshly refurbished donations. Thus, TRI reached out to the IRC with a partnership offering, hoping to connect with migrants throughout San Diego to donate our devices to.

Over the course of May and June, TRI worked with the IRC to set up this week's donation event. TRI provided the devices, and the IRC provided the clients to which the devices will go to.

Arriving at this week, with details finalized, the TRI set out on Tuesday and Wednesday morning to hand out the devices. Holding an event in El Cajon and City Heights, TRI handed out Laptops and MacBooks to refugees from around the world who were relocated to San Diego ranging from Afghan to Congolese refugees.

TRI is beyond grateful for the opportunity provided by the IRC, to connect our services with those in need. TRI hopes to continue this partnership with the IRC, with a 3rd event on the horizon in July, and more events to come in the future.
